Bharat Punarnirman Dal (BPD) of IIT Students

A bunch of IIT grads have floated a new political forum named Bharat Punarnirman Dal (BPD) under whose banner at least five candidates, including a few IIT pass-outs, will contest the forthcoming assembly poll in Uttar Pradesh.

Their agenda is simple. We promise to eliminate corruption in politics and restore ethics in the rotten governance, assures the BPD national president Ajit Ashwalayan Shukla. He says that instead of sharing the drawing room conversations, they intend to bell the cat. Why only 55 per cent of electorates cast their vote? We want to generate a political awakening and ensure cent per cent polling, he added

Originally a resident of Deoria district and a 2002 graduate from IIT-Bombay, Shukla has decided to contest from Lucknow Cantt seat whereas 2001 graduate from IIT-Kanpur, Omendra Pratap Singh will try his luck from the Arya Nagar assembly segment in Kanpur. Before jumping into the political battlefield, Omendra was working with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
