HC reserves orderHC reserves order The PIL bench of the A P High Court on Tuesday reserved orders on a writ petition seeking a direction for housing the IIT at Basara. It heard senior counsel S Ramachandra Rao at length before reserving its orders. Venugopalachari, former MP and Telugu Desam leader from Adilabad, filed the writ petition complaining that the governments action in seeking to shift the location from Basara to Medak, was politically motivated. In its draft approach paper for the 11th five-year plan, the Commission has suggested that for universities and technical institutes to be self-sufficient and generate their funds through fees, a hike is in order. Agreeing that there has to be a substantial increase in resources to expand the number of seats, the paper says successive annual plans will have to provide rising levels of budgetary support.
