Hope Springs Eternal For One More Student

A new chapter has been added to the success of Rajwinder Singh. Having stood first in the district by securing 90% marks in Punjab School Education Board Class X exam, he had no idea what to do next as poverty came in the way of his progress. But not any more.

Now, Rajwinder can dream to fly as two organisations have come forward to sponsor his studies. TOC had highlighted his plight three days back.

Tears rolled down from the eyes of his father Jagdish Singh when the sponsors approached them. “I am a daily wager, and earning a pittance. I was not sure whether I would be able to give my son better education,” he added.

Rajwinder’s mother Gurmeet Kaur thanked God for the timely help. “It’s all due to the grace of the Almighty. We could not afford higher studies for our son. Now, my son can realise his dreams,” she said.

Offering help to the student, Lt General (retd) JL Malhotra of Society for Meritorious Students said, “Rajwinder is a brilliant student, and our group always tries to sponsor poor meritorious students. We hope poverty will not hinder his growth.”

Dr SS Dahiya of Doon Ace Education Private Limited has come forward to help Rajwinder realise his dream of becoming a software engineer. “He wants to get into IIT, and we’ll help him do that,” he said.

They charge Rs 40,000 for preparation of IIT-JEE, but won’t take a single penny from Rajwinder, he added.

“Now, he should work hard, and make everyone the sponsors and us feel proud of him,” said Rajwinder’s father. Here’s wishing him all success.
