IIT-K students awarded

Two students of IIT Kanpur were awarded the prestigious Goldman Sachs global leader award this year in recognition of their academic merit.

The award winners, Varun Jain and Subhonmesh Bose, are students of second year B Tech, an IIT release said on Tuesday. In all 29 such awards were given in the entire country, it said.

Prof Prawal Sinha, Dean of Students Affairs felicitated the two students on Monday night.

IIT-Bombay Team Wins Red Hat Scholarships Program 2005 -2006 Red Hat has announced the winners of the Red Hat Scholarships 2005 - 2006 program. Red Hat Scholarships is an open source programming competition, conducted jointly by the eKALAVYA open source initiative at IIT Bombay and Red Hat India. IIT Kanpur mourns Loganathan's death The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) of Kanpur is mourning the death of distinguished achiever and alumni G.V. Loganathan, the professor who died in a US university shootout along with 32 others.
