Kota bids for proposed IIT in RajasthanKota bids for proposed IIT in Rajasthan With the Centre giving its go ahead for the setting up of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Rajasthan, major cities in the State have commenced lobbying for establishing the prestigious engineering institute in their respective regions. Kota, a city that boasts of having the maximum number of coaching centres for IIT and medical aspirants from across the country, has tendered itself as the right contender to house the proposed IIT. The city also claims of having a major railhead on the national trunk route, well-connected roads, electricity, land and water.
