S-E Drama Club presents “You Can’t Take Iit With You”The Sherburne Earlville Drama Club is learning to stop and smell the flowers as they take on the classic comedy You Cant Take It With You on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the S-E High School Auditorium. This Pulitzer Prize winning play by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman from the 1930s also became an academy award-winning movie directed by Frank Capra, starring Jimmy Stewart, Lionel Barrymore and Jean Arthur. This superbly crafted and well-written screwball comedy has wonderfully endearing characters as the Sycamore family comes under the scrutiny of the Kirbys when Tony Kirby, Jr. wants to wed Alice Sycamore. The show involves over 20 students including actors: Justine Cameron, Chris Dushko, Jeff Taylor, Brenda Hoefler, Justin Utegg, Eric Robertson, Adrian Enscoe, Tyler Rundell, Bekah Riley, Eric Muth, Ellen Fagan, Joe Mettler, Mark Wessing, Stephanie Joyce, Katherine Wansor, Brittany Clark, Amanda Cruz, Laura Ward and Heather Little. Also participating are student Stage Manager Shayna Andrews; stage crew Alison Bensley and Kyle Andrews; Jake von Mechow is running Sound, while Jeremy Loveland lights the stage. Director Colleen Law-Tefft is assisted by Ann Campbell and student director Rachel Walters. You Cant Take It With You teaches a wonderful lesson of tolerance and the benefits of diversity and individualism that is both timely and timeless. Grandpas philosophy is simply to relax and enjoy life. Stop striving for the seemingly important things in life (ie: money and power). Do what makes you happy and remember to stop and smell the flowers along the way! More : evesun.com/
