SC stay Confusion among IIT-JEE candidates, teachers

The Supreme Court stay on the 27 per cent reservations for OBCs in IITs and IIMs has led to doubts and some degree of confusion among those who are to appear for the joint entrance examination (JEE) on April 8.

At Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), professors arent clear on the next move. This time, as per a phased implementation plan, the JEE was to have a nine per cent quota for OBCs.

Since the apex court has stayed the implementation of the OBC quota in elite educational institutes, we have to abide by it, said a senior official, adding that the JEE board, which has members from all IITs, would meet and come out with a final decision.
